Name James Nord
Location NYC
First post October 2007As a narcissist with great looking friends, it was natural for James Nord to fall into photography. (Preferred equipment: Canon 1DS-Mark II with a 50mm 1.4 attached.) His passions are as diverse as his tie collection, but the most apparent is his love of cycling: James put over 10,000 miles on his bike this year! He got his first interview for his job thanks to his blog, his favorite word is “vulpine” (it means foxlike), and he wears a suit every day.

Name Mike Mitchell’s Tumblr of Amazing Things
Location Los Angeles
First post August 2009Freelance illustrator Mike Mitchell is perhaps best known for his “I’m with Coco” poster, but it’s his take on the universal “Viking riding a unicorn in space with lightning-emitting AK-47” concept that truly resonates with us. With a focus on pop culture and the utterly ridiculous, Mike posts his original works, the works of his friends and influences, and the things that make him laugh. He blew up the internet last week after receiving a thank-you note from comedian Zach Galifianakis for creating a splendid portrait. Mike lives in LA with his wife, Lauren, and various pets named Auggie, Belly, Emo, and Peeka.
